Eligibility for Diploma Engineering Admission

Admission to diploma engineering and technology programs is governed by the applicable rules of the competent authority. Candidates should review the educational qualifications, minimum marks and entry requirements before applying.

First-Year Admission

Educational Qualification

To be eligible for admission to the first year of diploma courses in Engineering or Technology, a candidate should satisfy the following requirements:

Qualifying Examination

The candidate must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, or another recognized equivalent examination.

  • General Science or Physics and Chemistry
  • Mathematics, or Algebra and Geometry
  • English

Minimum Aggregate Marks

The candidate should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks. A minimum of 45% aggregate marks applies to eligible Backward Class candidates belonging to Maharashtra State, as stated in the admission rules.

Recognized Institution

The qualifying examination should be completed through a recognized school or board, with all documents produced during admission verification.

HSSC Technical or Vocational Entry

HSSC-passed students with PCM may apply for direct second-year admission. The brochure specifies 50% marks for Open Category candidates and 45% for eligible Backward Class candidates from Maharashtra State.

Readmission and Reservation Rules

Previous First-Year Admission

A candidate admitted to the first year of a diploma course in the previous academic year may seek admission again during the current academic year, provided the earlier admission is cancelled before the prescribed deadline. Such candidates are not eligible for exemption from subjects passed during the earlier admission.

Reservation of Seats

Reservations for seats under the competent authority are applied according to prevailing government admission rules. Seats earmarked for NCC candidates, Jammu and Kashmir candidates and Government of India nominees do not carry further internal reservation, as stated in the brochure.
