Recognize Ragging

Behaviour That Is Not Acceptable

Forcing a student to perform acts, introduce themselves in a humiliating manner or obey unreasonable instructions.

Verbal abuse, threats, offensive remarks, ridicule, intimidation or deliberate social exclusion.

Physical harm, confinement, assault, forced consumption or any activity that risks health and safety.

Demanding money, personal belongings, services or unauthorized tasks from another student.

Online harassment, circulation of humiliating content, impersonation or threatening messages.

Any conduct that causes fear, embarrassment, mental distress or disruption of academic life.

Get Help

What to Do If Ragging Occurs

Move to Safety

Leave the situation when possible and approach a trusted faculty member, department head, principal or responsible authority.

Report Immediately

Describe what happened, where and when it occurred, and identify the persons involved if known.

Preserve Evidence

Keep messages, screenshots, photographs, videos, names of witnesses or other relevant information.

Seek Support

Request counselling, medical assistance or support from family and institutional authorities when needed.

Students and parents are informed about anti-ragging responsibilities and applicable declarations during admission.

Monitoring and Support

Faculty, wardens and designated committees support prevention, reporting and prompt institutional response.

Disciplinary Action

Complaints are handled according to applicable regulations and may result in suspension, cancellation of admission or legal referral.
